Canine Influenza in the Area

By August 4, 2020 No Comments

Due to the recent outbreak of canine influenza in our area, we are now requiring that all canine boarders be current on the Canine Influenza vaccine (H3N2/H3N8). This is to ensure the health and safety of all dogs boarding at the Bed & Breakfast. This vaccine is also highly recommended for dogs who have any social contact with other dogs locally.

This is a two part vaccine, meaning that a second vaccine booster must be given 3 to 4 weeks after the first vaccine in order to finish out the series and ensure your dog is fully protected. Due to the timing and to accommodate our existing reservations, we will allow dogs to board with only the first influenza vaccine until September 1st. After September 1st, we will require that all boarders have completed the two vaccine series.

If you have any questions, or would like to make an appointment to start this vaccine and ensure that your dog is fully protected, please give us a call at (209) 223-3504.

Thank you for your continued support as a valued client of ours. We look forward to see you and your pets in the future.

Warmly,

Dr. Mitchell Dial, DVM, Medical Director
